Hilary has received the ATEM National
President’s Award 2005 for her work over a period
of 2 decades, with university staff throughout Australia and New
Zealand.
Hilary Langford
is one of Australia’s most experienced organizational consultants
specializing in the people aspects of organizational life, and the
management of organizational change. Since commencing Oliver
& Langford in 1984, she has established a formidable reputation
in Australasia. Clients are drawn from the public, private and academic
sectors. Hilary has also consulted to over twenty-five universities
and colleges in Australia, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates.
Her particular interest
is creating a desire in people to create success, and address the
issues and solve the problems organizations are facing today.
This often involves identifying and addressing people-issues that
are preventing the development of a happy productive work environment.
Once people desire a goal, or want to find the solution to problems,
teams can always achieve whatever they want to achieve. So Hilary’s
goal is to assist people and teams identify worthwhile goals, and
remove any barriers that inhibit this desire for success.
She does this through
people and team development, and building empowered 'cultures' within
organizations. This sometimes includes challenging current
leadership, people management and decision making practices. It
also may involve resolution of conflicts and the improvement of
communications within and between, teams. However, the aim is always
to win 'hearts and minds' of staff, i.e. getting people committed
to improving the team’s and the organization's effectiveness.
'Wiping blood off the floor', getting staff productive again and
building morale, after the turmoil of change, is also a major part
of her work.
